Blackduck Cooperative Ag Services, Blackduck, Minnesota has an exciting opportunity to hire a CEO/General Manager for their thriving business due to an upcoming retirement. This company is located in the scenic Bemidji area and affords residents a multitude of outdoor recreational opportunities. The cooperative includes an elevator/feed mill, bulk fuel, agronomy and 24 hour cardtrol with annual sales in excess of $10 million.

The ideal candidate will be proficient at problem solving, building successful customer relationships and possess a working knowledge of at least 3 years in Ag business.  Candidates must have a strong financial/budgeting background with superior employee and customer relation skills, good communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong computer skills. Preferred candidates will possess a working knowledge of all or most of the commodity areas marketed by the coop.
 
Position Responsibilities:
  • The CEO/General Manager position will report directly to a five member Board of Directors.
  • Provide outstanding leadership by creating new ideas, developing customer relationships, providing competitive products and services while ensuring a financially successful company.
  • Establish and maintain the annual strategic financial objectives, goals and budget.
  • Implement programs, and recommend new products and services.
  • Manage accounting functions such as A/P and Notes receivable.
  • Manage accounts receivable, aging and risk management reporting.
  • Manage and develop team of accounting and administrative staff.
  • Design, develop, and implement effective internal controls for finance and accounting processes.
  • Build relationships with business division heads to create and implement policies process and solutions.
  • Support new and innovative business solutions from conception to deployment.
 
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
  • 3 plus years of experience working as a Location Manager, Department Manager and/or General Manager in Ag business
  • Strong work ethic and ability to jump into any situation and lend a hand
 
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred and/or a combination of education and experience
  • Cooperative experience
  • Visionary and planning skills
