Seed Sales Representative

CHS Selection Services is partnering with a progressive member cooperative in West Central, Montana to help hire a Seed Sales Representative.   Our ideal candidate will be accountable for seed sales and services to growers in an assigned area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the seed marketing plan.
  • Promotes company seed products. Work to develop programs, information, and tools that aid selling effort in the field. Posting signage, coordinating grower meetings, coordinating product knowledge classes, etc.
  • Assist in the sale and servicing of crop protection and crop nutrient products.
  • Quote prices and credit terms.
  • Will help oversee seed and technology life cycle management and be accountable for inventory control.
  • Manages testing and monitor performance of new and existing seed products and technology.
  • Influences, motivates, and strengthens relationships with field sales, local management, customers and industry.
  • Utilize all sales tools such as Precision Farming, Crop Scouting, Soil Sampling and other business solutions to enhance customer relationship.
  • Work with patrons in a courteous and professional manner.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in an agriculture related field; OR, Ag Associate's degree (A.A.) OR 1-3 years of Seed sales experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have or obtain a commercial applicator license, along with seed treatment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as MSDS sheets and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or other sales representative of organization.
  • Has a good mathematical aptitude and is able to formulate fertilizer applications.
  • Clean, insurable driving record and current driver's license.
  • Certified Crop Advisor designation beneficial.
