Fertilizer Plant Manager

CHS Selection Services is partnering with a progressive member cooperative in scenic Central, Wyoming to find a Fertilizer Plant Manager to join their dynamic organization.  The successful applicant will direct, promote, and coordinate the plant operations in a manner that will optimize market share, assess efficiencies, and help achieve the company’s mission and goals.

Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for all of the day-to-day operations of the facility while also establishing and supporting relationships with both customers and employees. The plant manager will also be responsible for engaging in open communication with all management staff on strategic issues having an impact on the facility.

Other responsibilities include:
  • Overall management of the facility.
  • Overseeing facility compliance with OSHA and cooperative safety program. 
  • Coordinate rail car and truck deliveries of product.
  • Work closely with crop advisors and agronomy managers to help increase the sales to new and existing accounts.
  • Supervising daily logistic activities associated with location operation.
  • Supervision – establish and communicate goals and results to employees, staff the location and delegate the workload, support employee growth, and uphold company policies.
  • Manage location maintenance and safety records.
  • Communicate information regarding products and services with customers.
  • Assist with capital expenditure needs.
  • Be ready to do any job within the plant when required such as blending and loading of product, running a loader, or truck.
  • In charge of all fertilizer distribution equipment. 
  • Prior management is preferred.
  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years management experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Computer skills (Word and Excel)
  • Organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
