CHS Aligned Solutions is providing Selection Services to hire an Agronomy Department Manager with a successful, single-location member cooperative northeast of Waterloo, Iowa.

Overview of Responsibilities:
  • First and foremost, build an agronomy division upon a positive customer experience, leading customer service initiatives and growing rapport. 
  • Serve as a mentor to sales team as well as do some agronomic recommendations and sales.
  • Develop, implement and execute sales growth in crop protection, seed, and fertilizer utilizing marketing programs.
  • Coordinate effectively with vendors/suppliers to maintain current and correct programs and pricing.  In addition, review current programs to evaluate effectiveness.
  • Partner operations, sales and logistics to manage agronomy services offered and guide direction to best serve customer needs.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are well maintained, organized and appropriate records are kept for both compliance and replacement schedules.
  • Review and prepare budgets and P&L statements for the department.
 
Requirements:
  • At least 10 years previous agronomy experience with preference of at least 2 years in management and an additional 5 years in agronomy sales.
  • Strong agronomic skills, CCA is preferred.
  • Excellent follow-up and communication skills.
  • Must have a CDL or ability to obtain one as well as a clean driving record to abide by insurance requirements.
  • Ability to work long hours seasonally.
