Energy Manager

CHS Selection Services is working with a progressive cooperative in Northwestern, Washington to help find an Energy Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a senior management position responsible for the company’s Energy Division which includes propane and bulk petroleum operations.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Fulfill the propane and petroleum needs of customers by directing all activities of the Energy Division.
  • Generate sales by performing sales calls, retention calls and other sales activities and direct our Certified Energy Specialist to do the same.
  • Increase market share while identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit and fill positions as needed.
  • Ensure all training for employees is completed. Conduct timely annual performance reviews.
  • Supervise a four member office team and utilize Verizon Network fleet management and Panasonic Toughbook technology to help plan, assign and direct the day-to-day activities.
  • Oversee maintenance and distribution operations including various facilities, vehicles and equipment.
  • Analyze and interpret financial reporting documents relating to the departments performance. Read industry-specific periodicals, professional journals, safety and technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Control operating expenses by monitoring employee productivity, equipment/vehicle expenses, etc.
  • Work with vendors to procure products and ensure supply especially during times of high demand.
  • Promote a strong safety culture while ensuring compliance with safety codes, policies, and local, state & federal laws.
  • Work with code enforcement officials, regulatory personnel and authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Promote and represent the company by attending conventions, conferences and trade shows.
  • Demonstrate and promote a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Exhibit an ability to get along with others.
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Three years’ experience managing propane or petroleum (or similar) distribution operations.
  • Display proficiency with Windows-based computer software, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Possess effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Have a proven history of dependable and reliable employment.
  • Lift, carry and load 60 pound weight requirements.
  • Possess a valid driver license and safe driving record.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess CETP certifications recognized by the National Propane Gas Association (or be able to obtain within pre-specified period of time)
  • Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association publications 54-Fuel Gas Code and 58-LP Gas Code
  • Possess a CDL class A or B with hazmat and tanker endorsements (assistance may be provided for the right applicant to obtain the necessary licenses within a pre-specified period of time)
