Seeking an agronomy advancement opportunity?  Our team is hiring for an Agronomy Branch Manager at a local member cooperative in east-central Indiana.
Geographic Location:
Our team is seeking a unique individual with a passion for agriculture and a team-centered approach.  The position is located at a local member cooperative and is located near Portland and Muncie Indiana, near the Indiana-Ohio border.
Position Overview:
The Branch Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a full-service agronomy retail facility and will report directly to the senior leadership team’s Agronomy Division Manager.  The primary responsibilities will include motivating team members, answering customer’s agronomy questions and managing logistics of the facility.
Branch Manager Responsibilities:
  • Provide friendly, courteous and efficient customer service and create a professional environment for employees and customers with a goal of retaining and attracting new customers. 
  • Manage and train for exceeding expectations in customer service and customer support.
  • Ensure that operations are conducted as efficiently and safely as possible while meeting the needs of our customers.
  • Ensure that the proper products for retail sales are in place and appropriate margins and service charges are maintained.
  • Ensure that the agronomy facilities and equipment are maintained in excellent condition with a high regard for promoting safety procedures.
  • Ensure that the agronomy branch operations are in compliance with applicable government regulations.
  • Work with the Agronomy Division Manager and agronomy team in developing a vision for the growth and profitability of the division.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry and strategic community partners.
Who would work best for this role?
Our ideal candidate has had previous custom application and agronomy sales and operations experience, and is wanting to take the next step in their career to manage an agricultural retail branch.  This ideal candidate must be focused on providing an excellent experience for the customer and a motivator to the team.  Preferred qualifications include:
  • B.S. in Agronomy or other Ag-related degree + 5 years related experience
  • Previous experience working within Ag-Retail is required
  • CCA preferred as well as a Commercial Applicator’s license but is not required
  • Must be detail oriented, analytical and have the ability to motivate a team
  • Ability to work long, varied hours and days as business dictates 
  • Must be able to obtain a CDL and pass a drug test and pre-employment background test
