CHS Aligned Solutions is working with a large and expanding cooperative in Northwestern Wisconsin to hire a Feed and Sales Nutritionist.

Position Information:
The Sales and Nutrition Specialist is responsible for direct producer contact.  While dairy will be the primary focus, other livestock nutrition may also be interwoven into the client base.  The position focus will be to develop and maintain relationships with producers while ensuring the health of livestock.  This position will be focused on providing solution-based sales and providing excellent customer service. The Nutritionist will utilize the dairy’s co-products to provide unique value added, nutritional liquid feed and supplements.

Responsibilities:
  • Increasing sales by providing nutrition consulting and overall livestock health support.
  • Implement on-farm trials of new products.
  • Monitor livestock growth rates for producers and compare it to local and regional goals.
  • Research issues with calves/livestock and develop a problem-solving approach to solving needs.
  • Plan, implement and present educational forums for prospective and current customers – select site, arrange speakers, promote events and evaluate success.
  • Work with local producers to establish, implement and maintain management protocols for their operation.
  • Generate weekly and daily schedules of sales calls and submit monthly contact reports.
  • Establish yearly sales goals and develop marketing plans to achieve goals.
 
Qualifications:
Must have outstanding communication skills in-person, phone and written.  Certain times of the year will require long hours and weekend time and livestock questions may come outside of regular working hours.  Must be able to lift and stack 50+ pounds.
 
Qualified applicants must have at least 2 years of experience in livestock nutrition.  This position is designed to be a mid-level career opportunity and previous sales experience is necessary for the success of this position.
