Agronomy Manager

CHS is working with a progressive member cooperative in East Central North Dakota to help hire an Agronomy Manager.   
 
The ideal candidate to plan and direct the marketing of the organization’s agronomy products and services offered by the cooperative to area producers through a team effort.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Responsible for managing entire agronomy operation.
  • Establish strategic marketing plans to achieve company objectives for agronomy products & services.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans & programs, both short & long range, to support sales and revenue objectives of the organization.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
  • Source and market seed sales.
  • Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities as well as communication of sales programs, incentives and purchase options.
  • Be a team player within the whole organization.
  • Dispatch custom application equipment and tenders oversee maintenance of equipment.
  • Serve as a liaison between suppliers, vendors, and distributors to sales staff, management and employees.
  • Oversee development and production of promotional and collateral materials.
  • Develop & recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Achieve satisfactory profit/loss ratio & market share in relation to preset standards & industry & economic trends.
  • Oversee & evaluate market research, adjust marketing strategy to meet changing market & competitive conditions.
  • Ongoing communication with sales staff to monitor competitive products and marketing activities.
  • Establish & maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Train sales staff and other key positions on programs, pricing and overall strategy for the agronomy division.
  • Supervise and develop sales team. 
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
  • 4 year degree in Agronomy, Ag Econ, Ag Business, Ag Ed, Ag engineering, soil or weed Science. (6-10 years related job experience may substitute for education) 
  • 5 years industry experience
