CHS Aligned Solutions is working with a progressive member cooperative in North Central, Oregon to hire a Seedsman. 
This position requires experience in seed sales as well operating and maintaining equipment in seed, grain or similar production environment. In this position you will work with growers and customers to plan & plant varieties for our certified seed program. The Seedsman will interface with the operations team to make sure seed is properly received, stored, cleaned and treated to maintain a high quality product.
• Research and track various varieties’ performance
• Help with varietal planning
• Place seed production acres
• Track production quality in the field
Conditioning & Storage
• Coordinate with growers, operations and administrative staff to properly receive, clean and store seed varieties in a manner that maintains quality, identity and purity.
Treating, Packaging & Sales
• Coordinate with operations team to make sure cleaned varieties are in place for sale
• Work with seasonal staff to ensure that our on demand seed treatment facility is providing the highest quality products.
• Prepare and store packaged seed.
• Deliver customized, knowledgeable seed and treatment recommendations. Know our customers and their fields.
Required Skills / Experience:
• At least 3 years agribusiness/agronomy/seed experience (or equivalent) required with a BS in agriculture preferred
• Be able to work at heights up to 200 ft.
• Periodically perform heavy labor
• Walk long distances on uneven ground
• Be able to qualify for use of a dust and mist respirator
• Be able to use a manlift with a maximum weight capacity of 300 pounds
• Possess or obtain a pesticide applicators license with necessary endorsement within 3 months of hire
• Familiarity with Windows Operating Systems / basic computer skills
• Preferred: Mechanical abilities (able to operate and troubleshoot equipment)
