Agronomy Manager

CHS Selection Services is collaborating with a progressive member cooperative in North Central, Nebraska to identify candidates for an Agronomy Manager to join their growing dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, supervision, sales and marketing, profitability, reporting, purchasing, resale pricing, inventory, service, maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management.
Position Objective:
To direct, promote, and coordinate agronomy operations in a manner that will optimize market share, improve  efficiency, and help achieve the mission and goals of the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
The agronomy department manager’s responsibilities involve supervision, marketing, profitability and sales, reporting, purchasing, resale pricing, inventory, service, maintenance, environmental compliance, and other duties as assigned by the general manager.

  • Establish department goals and annual budget
  • Conduct department planning and safety meeting annually
  • Recommend selection of staff and adjust work force to fit department needs
  • Identify training/orientation needed for individual employees
  • Complete and administer a yearly review with each department employee following management approval
  • Uphold all policies
  • Ensure that department facilities and equipment meet all federal, state, and OSHA regulations
  • Inform all customers of safe product handling 

Basic Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in Agronomy, Ag Econ, Ag Business, Ag Ed, Ag engineering, soil or weed Science. (4 years related job experience may substitute for education)
  • 1-year industry experience
