CHS Selection Services is working with a progressive member cooperative in South Central, Montana to hire an Energy Director to join their growing dynamic team.
This key leadership position is accountable for profitably growing the company’s energy business through planning and directing all energy functions including operations, delivery, customer service, supply chain and business development.
  • Responsible for leading the company’s entire propane, bulk refined fuels and lubricants businesses.
  • Achieve satisfactory market share while delivering profitability performance expectations.
  • Maximizing gross margins through pricing.  Effectively striking a balance between growing the business and delivering acceptable margin percentages.
  • Purchase energy products with an emphasis on maximizing margins while minimizing risk.
  • Establish strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives for both energy products and services.
  • Research, analyze and monitor financial, technological and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
  • Oversee all energy operational activities companywide.
  • Effectively manage inventory and shrinkage.
  • Supervise drivers with an emphasis on exceptional customer service while expanding market share.
  • Effective use of all energy equipment, moving equipment within companywide operations to maximize efficiencies. 
  • Oversee proper maintenance of all energy related rolling stock.
  • Ensure the company is meeting all regulatory and DOT requirements.
  • Create and support a safety first culture.
  • Serve as liaison between suppliers and other team members.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent company image throughout all promotional materials and events.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key industry and community partners. 
  • College degree, 6 to 10 years of job related job experience may substitute for education.
  • CDL with hazmat certification.
  • 5 years of industry experience.
  • 3 years’ experience managing an energy department/location and supervising staff.
  • 3 years’ experience in developing and executing business development plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, well organized, cooperative and willing to assist others.
