Agronomy Sales Representative

CHS Selection Services is partnering with a progressive member cooperative in north central Colorado to hire an Agronomy Sales Representative.  Our ideal candidate will be a customer facing individual for developing new business potential as well as retaining old business.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Frequent sales calls to develop relationships and learn customer needs and offer correct solutions.
  • Sound recommendations from knowledge of crop nutrients, crop protection, seed and insect/disease management.
  • Create and assist in implementation of new products, new processes, and new programs intended to mutually benefit the producer and coop.
  • Forecast fertilizer and chemical needs and coordinate with Director of Sales on purchasing, pricing, and programs.
  • Maintain records of sales contacts and submit reports on a regular basis.
  • Keep detailed records of all transactions, maps, soil tests, etc. to the highest standard applicable.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times.
  • Be responsible for keeping or attaining needed credentials for the position.
  • Keep current on industry safety regulations and company policies as specified in the employee handbook, and abide by the same.
  • Keeps records and files reports on use of pesticides and special use of chemicals as required by law.
  • Schedules seminars and meetings to update producers on changes in product registrations and environmental laws.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned. 


Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Agronomy or related field
  • Three plus years’ experience in an agricultural sales or related field
  • Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of crop production, vegetables, dry land, and irrigated
  • Knowledge of ornamental tree and turf production and maintenance
  • Must have good math skills and computer skills
  • Ability to frequently transport up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 40 pounds
  • Must have and maintain a current Commercial Pesticide Applicators License issued by the State of Colorado
  • Must become CCA certified
  • Must maintain a clean MVR
