Director of Agronomy

CHS Selection Services is partnering with a progressive member cooperative located in Northern, Colorado to hire a Director of Agronomy.  The successful candidate will lead the agronomy sales and operations for multiple locations and possess a strong agronomy background.
The successful candidate will lead the agronomy division in a manner that will optimize market share with a focus on regularly increasing sales while maintaining margin, and improving efficiency. 
  • Managing a multi-location agronomy operation which includes all operations and sales responsibilities. 
  • Experience in agronomy as it relates to irrigation, turf, row crops and forage.
  • Analyze and monitor financial and other market conditions and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities through the use of company finance programs.
  • Monitor and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing.
  • Overseeing operational requirements at the Agronomy facilities as well as application and delivery equipment including preventative maintenance programs.
  • Overseeing inventory levels and associated market risk.
  • Ensure staffing and delegation of workloads to meet market requirements.
  • Optimize marketing of agronomy products in agricultural and urban market places.
  • Assist with the establishment and achievement of divisional profitability and sales goals through the use of ongoing measurement of current-to-goal performance.
  • Implement advertising and promotional activities as well as communicating sales programs, incentives and product procurement options.
  • Submitting all required operational and financial reports.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior-level management positions within the agricultural industry, emphasizing previous sales experience and encompassing operations, maintenance, marketing, and financial planning, analysis, and a thorough understanding of agronomy marketplace and operations.
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field (6-10 years related experience may substitute for education) MBA, advanced degree, and agronomic certifications (CCA)
