Controller

CHS Aligned Solutions is working with a large member cooperative in Southwestern North Dakota to help find a Controller to join their dynamic team.  This is a key position and the ideal candidate will direct the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as the organization’s relationships with lending institutions, shareholders, and the financial community.

The controller would be fully responsible for accounting responsibility, including, but not limited to: financial reporting, asset management, treasury management, monthly financial reporting and forecasting.

Other responsibilities include:
 
  • Coordinate the preparation of timely/accurate financial and other information for transmission to the divisions, as well as for use by all levels of management.
  • Process invoicing, A/P & A/R.
  • Monitor controls to ensure accuracy of data/information.
  • Reconcile all accounts on the balance sheet to insure an accurate financial report.
  • Coordinate the acquisition, installation, operation, training, maintenance, and replacement of data processing hardware and software in an organized plan.
  • Train and support users in the use of hardware/software for both in-house and remote data processing locations.
  • Monitor staff to ensure that work is being completed accurately, timely and efficiently.
  • Promptly report to supervisor any customer and/or employee complaints or concerns.
  • Work effectively with patrons, management and fellow employees.
  • Available to work extended hours when needed.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
 
Basic Qualifications:
 
  • 4-year degree in Business or Accounting, or 2-year degree plus 2-5 years’ experience in related field
  • 5 years’ experience in Accounting & Data Processing
  • 2 years’ experience supervising
  • Experience with software tools
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications
  • Excellent organizational skills, communications skills, the ability to multi-task, and most importantly, the ability to work well in a team
