CHS Aligned Solutions is partnering with an expanding, vertically-integrated Dairy cooperative specializing in Dairy Foods and Ag Retail to hire a Senior Vice President of Agribusiness to oversee the Agricultural Business division of the cooperative which includes retail platforms in Agronomy, Animal Nutrition, Energy and Grain.  
Company Information: Located in beautiful northwestern Wisconsin, this position is due to healthy, steady growth within the cooperative.  Annual revenues exceed $180M.  The area is a popular vacation and tourist destination due to the mild climate, abundance of lakefront living, and recreational activities.  Located a little over an hour from Minneapolis and St. Paul, the area provides a close-knit community with large city amenities nearby.
Position Structure:
Reporting directly into the President and CEO, this position gives the Senior Vice President of Agribusiness an opportunity to run the full-service Ag Retail side of the company working both as a business partner and encouraging entrepreneurial flexibility to bring new ideas and cultivate change for the purpose of enhancing value proposition to the customer.
This position combines multiple positions into one SVP position with strong emphasis on Agronomy and General Management.  The Senior Vice President of Agribusiness will be a vital member of the senior management staff and will be responsible to collaborate with Dairy Foods, Finance and Human Resources.
Responsibilities include:
  • Managing activity and profitability across all agricultural divisions including Agronomy, Energy, Animal Nutrition, and Grain. 
  • Serving as leader of the Agronomy division.  Must have previous Agronomy sales and management experience with the proven ability to provide direction, coaching and leadership with the intent of creating the conditions where sales personnel can achieve sales success.
  • Working with management, sales and operation teams to provide market/customer knowledge that contributes to the effective execution of yearly sales and pipeline establishment.      
  • Developing programs and packages that incentivize customers to utilize multiple services available across Ag Business divisions (Agronomy / Feed / Grain / Energy). Foster a culture of teamwork to all sales divisions to execute cross-selling business strategies.
  • Planning and overseeing advertising and promotional activities as well as communication of sales programs, incentives and purchase options.
  • Serving as a liaison between suppliers, vendors, and distributors to staff and management through establishing relationships with key industry partners.
  • Achieving profit/loss goals & market share goals in relation to market potential, preset standards & industry & economic trends.
  • Key back-office responsibilities will include oversight of inventory management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, risk management, annual budgeting and overall cost avoidance efforts. 

Many secondary responsibilities and characteristics will also be required.  To be considered for this opportunity, the following experience is required:
  • At least 10 years of management experience.
  • Must have an Agronomy background, preference in an agronomy division management role.
  • Demonstrated 5+ years of understanding the workings of financials including developing P&L statements, and budgeting.
  • Experience coaching others to high performance and thinking outside the box.
